The Second Vice President of the country, H.E. Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue, is carrying out an inspection tour of the army camps and barracks on the island of Bioko.
Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue began this visit at the Mañe Ela camp in Malabo, and during the first two days of touring he also went to the camp of Sera, in Sipopo.
The Second Vice President, in his meeting with both the leaders and the military in general, has maintained a close dialogue with them, and expressed each of the points of his visit, the message of the need to improve the overall armed forces, beginning with its image towards the population.
-“We must change the image of the army,”said the Vice President in his address to the military, adding that “we must improve the image we have of our armed forces in order to develop them.”
The Vice President in charge of Defense and State Security also said that further steps will be taken to regenerate the work and life in general of the military, and referred specifically to the construction of new and modern barracks and well equipped hospitals, among others.
