The Turkish Embassy in Yaoundé has been accredited to Equatorial Guinea since 12 January 2010. Turkey has an Honorary Consulate General in Equatorial Guinea.
Turkey and Equatorial Guinea share the wish to develop their bilateral relations in every field. In this context, visits of high-level delegations are being taking place. Equatorial Guinea participated at the First Turkey-Africa Cooperation Summit held in Istanbul, from 18 to 21 August 2008 with a delegation led by President Obiang Nguema Mbasogo.
Mr. Bahattin Cebeci, Chief Advisor to the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey, visited Equatorial Guinea between 21 and 24 January 2009 accompanied by a delegation of businessmen to present the letter of H.E. Abdullah Gül, President of the Republic of Turkey, addressed to the President of Equatorial Guinea, conveying messages of goodwill.
A delegation led by H.E. Zafer Çağlayan, Minister of State, paid a visit to Equatorial Guinea on 15 December 2010. The delegation which also comprised about 100 Turkish businessmen began its official program in Bata by being received by H.E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, President of Equatorial Guinea and met with H.E. Ignacio Milam Tang, Prime Minister of Equatorial Guinea in Malabo subsequently. A Business Forum was realized within the scope of the visit.
The trade volume between the two countries amounted to 32.7 million USD in 2010. During the first quarter of 2011 bilateral trade volume reached the level of 31.3 million USD.
