The event was presided over by H.E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo and the First Lady, Constancia Mangue, and was attended by Prime Minister and Head of Government, Ignacio Milam Tang and various church, civil and military authorities.
The inauguration, which took place last Thursday, was also attended by the Minister of Information and Tourism and the Spokesman of the Government, Jeronimo Osa Osa Ecoro, who expressed his satisfaction regarding “this ceremony which is a joy for the sector and is crowned by the presence of the Head of State”, who he described as “a great driver of the national tourism sector, conceived as an alternative support to the economy.”
After highlighting the major challenges that our country has faced, such as the successful holding of the African Union Summit and other international events that have been the revival of the political, economic and social projection, designed by the President of Equatorial Guinea and identified in the Horizon 2020 program, the Minister stated that this policy has given recognition to Equatorial Guinea in the international community as a serious, safe and stable country.
For his part, the President of the Republic congratulated “the promoter of this project, Lucas Nguema Esono Mbang, for this initiative and the banking institutions for their financial contribution to the realization of the construction of this tourist complex.”
He also appealed to the citizens of Equatorial Guinea to mimic such projects that contribute to the country’s economic development, because “one cannot be patriotic without showing love for his country” while expressing his readiness to support the plans to increase the ability of national companies.
Finally, after extending his good wishes to everyone for Christmas and the New Year 2012, he invited the banks operating in the country to support domestic private enterprise to collaborate with the economic development in Equatorial Guinea.
The ceremony continued with the blessing of the new resort, Elik Melen, by the Bishop of the Diocese of Bata, Juan Matogo Oyana and the cutting of the inaugural ribbon by the President of the Republic, and then the visit the different facilities of the hotel.
At the end of the ceremony, guests attended the reception organized by the Nguema Esono Mbang family.
