Messages from President Obiang

The first congratulatory message was addressed to His Majesty Khalifa Bin Zayem Al Nahayam, King of the United Arab Emirates:

-“To mark the 41st anniversary of the independence of your country, on December 2, the people of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea and the Government join me in expressing to His Majesty the warmest and most sincere congratulations and through you, to the people of the United Arab Emirates, for this celebration.

We reaffirm our resolve to strengthen the excellent relations and traditional friendship and cooperation between our two countries. My highest esteem,”

The message addressed to Mohamed Bin Ratid Al Maktoum, Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates, was similar:

-“Excellency, to mark the 41st anniversary of the independence of your country, on December 2, the people of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea and the Government join me in expressing to Your Excellency the warmest and most sincere congratulations, and through you, to the people of the United Arab Emirates, for this celebration.

We reaffirm our resolve to strengthen the excellent relations and traditional friendship and cooperation between our two countries. My highest esteem,”

The first message of condolence was addressed to Denis Sassou Nguesso, President of the Republic of Congo:

-“Mr. President and Dear Brother: With great regret, we have been informed of the tragic accident occurred on December 1st of the plane crash that veered off the runway while attempting to land at Mayamaya airport, killing over 30 people.

Dismayed by this sad and unfortunate news, the people of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea and the Government join me in expressing to Your Excellency and to the Congolese people, our deepest condolences while we express our moral support and solidarity.

We ask Your Excellency to extend to the bereaved families our deepest condolences. My highest esteem.”

The second message of condolence was addressed to Jose Eduardo dos Santos, President of the Republic of Angola:

-“Mr. President and Dear Brother: Upon hearing of the death of Lucrecio dos Santos, on the first day of December 2012, for a disease that he was suffering.

Saddened by the news, all the people of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea join me in expressing to Your Excellency and the brotherly people of Angola our deepest condolences for his death. May the Almighty God keep him in his bosom.”
