The meeting took place last Wednesday afternoon at the headquarters of the United Nations, which is celebrating its 66th General Assembly.
Late Wednesday afternoon, the President of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea and Chairman of the African Union, H.E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, held a meeting at the United Nations with Ban Ki-moon, Secretary General of this organization.
Both parties talked, as before, of the situation being experienced by the Libyan people. In this regard, the Head of State of Equatorial Guinea stressed the need to curb the violence in the North African country.
During the meeting, both leaders also discussed the problems faced by countries in the Horn of Africa, especially Somalia. The current Chairman of the African Union explained to the Secretary General of the United Nations the measures taken during the recent Donor Awareness Conference held recently in the city of Addis Ababa (Ethiopia).
