On Monday, the Representative of the Permanent Mission of Equatorial Guinea to the FAO chaired the annual meeting between the African ambassadors accredited to the United Nations agencies and the President of the International Fund for Agricultural Development, in the headquarters in Rome.
The meeting -registered in the diplomatic process of relations between the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and the African countries represented at the United Nations agencies for agriculture based in Rome- provided the framework to strengthen ties and relations of cooperation and assistance.
The Representative of Equatorial Guinea to the FAO chaired the meeting, as current President of the African Group of Ambassadors.
Crisantos Obama Ondo told the President of IFAD that Africa was looking forward to the discussion of the strategic vision on small-scale agriculture, and expressed the region’s interest in participating fully in the discussion.
In turn, the IFAD President Kanayo F. Nwanze, after thanking Obama Ondo and the group of African ambassadors present for their attendance, recalled that his organization works in close harmony with the Member States.
He also reviewed the relations between his institution with the continent, noting the increased budget for Africa in recent years and the need to continue increasing IFAD’s participation in the development of the countries involved.
