Monday, July 16, Miguel Oyono Ndong Mifumu met for the first time after his appointment with the leaders of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry.
Increasing domestic production to end dependence on exports of food is one of the goals the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry is working on, said the Minister, Miguel Oyono Ndong Mifumu, in his first meeting with the leaders of the department.
At the beginning of his speech, the new Minister acknowledged the work of his predecessor, now Second Deputy Prime Minister, Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue, and stated that the agriculture sector is working because there is a package of programs and projects and even actions, that has already been implemented.
Miguel Oyono Ndong Mifumu insisted that Equatorial Guinea “must produce what we consume, and consume what we produce; it is time to increase domestic production to end foreign dependency. Regarding the functioning of the department, discipline, punctuality and the permanence in their positions will also be required of officials.”
