The communiqué that the company Martínez Hermanos states as follows:
“The company Martínez Hermanos reports to the general public that the three Hindu crew members kidnapped on January 3 have been recovered, without the need of any payment.
It also wants to take this moment and record its gratitude to all the military and civilian authorities of Equatorial Guinea that have intervened in the event and especially President Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, who from the beginning took special interest and support in this case.
We also want to give a big thank-you to the Nigerian Embassy in Malabo, and to the Nigerian Government, who provided a specialized commando to be able not only to recover the three kidnapped crew members, but also to trap the criminal band without the need to pay any ransom.
Finally, we wish to express our special thanks to the Ambassador of Guinea in Nigeria, Mr. Job Obiang, for his collaboration during this episode.
To everyone, thanks for the happy result of the kidnapping without having to lament any loss.
The ship San Miguel, owned by the famous commercial company, was taken on January 3 by a pirate ship, which retained the entire crew for some hours. Later, they released most of the workers, and, after confiscating the telephones, kept three of them, among which was the captain, Kanishk Jhorar.
With this release, this event ends in the best way possible, which has involved the authorities as well as the diplomacy of the countries, up to its resolution.
