Team liaison officer David Mosiwy said the cash incentives will be paid by Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue, son of the country’s president, Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasolo who has controlled the oil-rich nation since 1979.
Equatorial Guinea and Gabon are hosting the tournament.
Mosiwy says the prize pot is a “personal gesture” from the president’s son and shows the “popular support” for the team.
Equatorial Guinea has an unemployment rate of around 22 per cent, according to US intelligence estimates.
