Equatorial Guinea ministers coming for Umhlanga –

A delegation of ministers from the Equatorial Guinea is expected in the country as guests of Their Majesties during this year’s Umhlanga Reed Dance ceremony.
They will be part of the dignitaries who will grace this year’s ceremony, which also attracts numerous tourists from the region and abroad.
This was confirmed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Lutfo Dlamini, who mentioned though that he was still to get the finer details of the visit.
“Yes, I can confirm that a delegation of ministers from the Equatorial Guinea will grace this year’s Umhlanga ceremony. But I do not have the full details nor the exact number of the ministers to attend right now. But if you can call me in the afternoon, I will have received all the details of their visit,” he said when called yesterday morning.
Efforts to reach the minister yesterday evening drew a blank as he continuously switched off his phone when called, an indication that he could have been in a series of meetings pertaining the upcoming ceremony.
Efforts to reach the Minister of Home Affairs Mgwagwa Gamedze also proved futile as he could not answer his phone when called in the evening.
Worth noting is that His Majesty King Mswati III visited Equatorial Guinea early this year, during a state visit that included neighbouring Gabon.
Whilst there, he expressed Swaziland’s willingness to establish long lasting bilateral relations with both countries, and the Equatorial Guinea ministers’ visit could be as a result of the King’s proposal.
