Equatorial Guinea calls for Spain’s support for African Union Summit

Malabo – The Government of Equatorial Guinea will ask for assistance and cooperation of Spain for the African Union (AU) Summit to be held in Malabo in June 2011.
The support has been requested in advance by the minister of Foreign Affairs, Eustace Nsenga, during a meeting with the Spanish ambassador to the country, Manuel Gómez-Acebo.
However, the parties are still to specify the aspects in which Spain would assist, according to a press release from the Government in Malabo.
Nsenga also informed the Spanish ambassador on the progress and level of preparation of the summit, the first of its kind being held in that former Spanish colony in the sub-Saharan Africa.
