The proposed establishment of the Confucius Institute within the National University of Equatorial Guinea (UNGE) is still under consideration, according to the discussions held during the audience between the Rector of National University of Equatorial Guinea, Carlos Nze Nsuga, with the Ambassador of China in Equatorial Guinea, Wang Shixiong, on Tuesday, February 7.
Later, in declarations to the press, Ambassador Shixiong explained that “the establishment of the Confucius Institute within the UNGE would be very important for the spread of Chinese culture and to strengthen friendship and educational cooperation between China and Equatorial Guinea“.
The Ambassador also said that during his conversation with the rector, they dealt with issues of educational cooperation between the universities of both countries.

According to embassy sources, the Republic of China has also offered scholarships for forty Equatorial Guinea, the admission exams for them will be held in March.
