Capita Symonds Appointed to Equatorial Guinea Scheme
7 January 2013
Capita Symonds has been appointed by the Government of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea for the construction of a new Institute of Technology and Hydrocarbons in Equatorial Guinea.
The project comprises the construction of a 22,000 sq m gross internal floor area technical college including classrooms, workshops, laboratories, a library, auditorium and canteen facilities across five separate buildings linked by covered walkways, as well as a separate accommodation block with leisure facilities.
Capita Symonds has been providing technical and commercial reviews on the project and has carried out all the contract negotiations on behalf of the client with a Portuguese contractor. The company has since been retained on the project to provide multidisciplinary site monitoring, technical advisor and procurement management services.
The project is due for completion in November 2015.
