Serbian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vuk Jeremic said yesterday that he thanked the leadership of Equatorial Guinea for not recognising Kosovo’s independence.
Jeremic said after talks with President Obiang Mbasogo and the country’s Foreign Minister Pastor Bile that good relations between the two countries will continue to develop in a positive direction.
The Minister pointed out that economic cooperation with Equatorial Guinea is already at a high level, and recalled that Serbia`s construction companies are engaged there to build a motorway there.
He said that Serbian companies are also engaged in the construction of sports infrastructure for the Africa Cup in football, to be held in that country.
Jeremic said that there are great opportunities for economic cooperation between the two countries, especially in agricultural production.
He expressed the hope that the results of that cooperation will be visible in the coming months and that Equatorial Guinea will remain one of the largest partners in the African market.
Jeremic is currently in Malabo to attend the meeting of the Executive Council of the African Union.
