In the match played on Sunday at the stadium in Malabo, The Panter of Equatorial Guinean defeated by 1-0 the FC Sequence team of Guinea Conakry, in the first leg of the preliminary qualifying round of the CAF Cup Winners’ Cup.
The Panter clearly controlled the match, except for a few minutes in which its opponent was able to react. Despite this control and some chances for a goal, the first half ended goalless.
In the second half, the control of the Black Panthers of Ruslan Obiang Nsue increased even more, but the goal opportunities, which were continuous, did not give results.
The victory goal came in the added time, in minute 93, when the sideliner Togola Bourrema made a shot that surprised the goalkeeper Dabo Mohamed.
In this second half, the coach of F.C. Sequence was expelled and five of his players received yellow cards. The second leg will take place in Conakry in fourteen days.
For its part, the Sony Ela Nguema was soundly beaten by 7-0 in Ghana against the powerful Asante Kotoko of Kumasi.
