|Trade between Ghana and Equatorial Guinea appears to growing as the Central Africa country has decided to use electrical and telecommunication cables manufactured by Reroy Cables Limited.
This follows a solo exhibition of made-in-Ghana goods in Equatorial Guinea last November, which was organized by the Ghana Export Promotion Council (GEPC), in collaboration with the Bioko Chamber of Commerce, Agriculture and Forestry (BCCAF) of Equatorial Guinea.
At the exhibition, BCCAF expressed satisfaction with the quality and standard of products produced by Reroy Cables, and paid a courtesy call on its management over the weekend to determine whether it was indeed produced by the company.
This indeed portrays Ghana as a nation that ensures adherence to international standards in all productive sectors of the economy.
Kate Quartey Papafio, Managing Director of Reroy said, ‘To consolidate our quality standards and at the same time not trying to sound boastful, we have copies of recommendation letters that attest our position.
These letters are from the Ministry of Energy and the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG).’
She noted that her outfit will take advantage of excellent investment opportunities promoted by the Presidents of Ghana and Equatorial Guinea.
She promised to deliver quality products promptly, saying ‘As you can see, the market is there for us to benefit and the continent as a whole.’
She mentioned that her outfit was expanding its telecommunication and data section with the aim of deploying new telecom cables such as underground telecommunication cables, aerial telecommunication cables and drop wires.
The company exports its products to Benin, Togo, Kenya, Burkina Faso and Sierra Leone.
Gregorio Camo Boho, President of Bioko Chamber of Commerce, for his part, said Equatorial Guinea was ready to partner Ghana and replicate some of its growth agenda.
Maxwell Osei-Kusi, Director of Research and Information of GEPC said Reroy products are durable and urged the Bioko Chamber of Commerce to support Ghanaian companies to produce quality products for the Equatorial Guinean market.
Reroy Cable, which is a member of the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI), has operated in the country for over 15 years.
