After participating in meetings of the G20, where he met with leaders of major countries of the world, President Obiang Nguema Mbasogo went to Paris to launch in the French capital the newsroom of the Africa24 news channel.
“The creation of the Africa24 channel has been a great inspiration,” said President Obiang during the opening ceremony. “This channel provides an objective and an authentic voice of the African countries.”
President Obiang was accompanied by the President of the African Union Commission, Jean Ping, who also addressed the press to comment that “we are proud to say that this is African media. The main objective of this major television network is to provide specialized communication services in Africa. Our hope is that the spirit of African information will continue.”
Africa24 is the first pan-African news channel and the only channel of radio and tv broadcasting specialized in Africa, which is broadcast in Europe, Middle East and the United States.
The opening of the station was also attended by Abdou Diof (Secretary-General of “la Francophonie”) and Idriss Deby Itno (President of Chad).
PresidentObiang congratulated África24 professionals for their work in media coverage of the continent.
