The head of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Guillermina Mekuy Mba Obono, received the Ambassador of Cuba accredited in Equatorial Guinea, Pedro Doña Santana.
This meeting, the first of the year between the two personalities, served for the Cuban diplomat to deliver to the Minister the invitation to the 14th International Conference on African and Afro-American Culture, to be held on April 12 and 16, in Santiago de Cuba.
The Minister thanked him for the invitation and said she would work in order to have an exhibiting commission attend it.
During the conversation they discussed other subjects, such as the International Tourism Fair, FitCub 2015, which will also be held in Cuba between May 5 and 7. Mekuy Mba welcomed the proposal with great interest, saying that if her schedule permits it, she will also be present in this event, because she is eager to see the island. If it were not possible for her to make the trip, she would send a senior official from the ministry to go in her place, she added.
During the meeting, the Minister and the Ambassador discussed other issues, including the ability to advance in an agreement between the Cuban and Equatorial Guinean institutions to develop cultural activities.
Guillermina Mekuy thanked Doña Santana for his visit, and reiterated the commitment of her government and her ministry in enhancing the relations and cooperation.
