Equatorial Guinea may become CPLP member in 2012 – Ambassador

 Luanda – The ambassador of Equatorial Guinea to Angola, José Esono Micha Akeny, Monday, in Luanda, admitted the possibility of his country joining the Community of  Portuguese-speaking Countries (CPLP), in 2012, during the next summit of the head of states and of government of the to be held in Maputo (Mozambique).

Speaking to Angop, the diplomat said that his government has been receiving “excellent answers” from the member states about its adhesion to CPLP, as ensured at the last summit held in Luanda, last July.

Asked about the necessary elements to become member of CPLP, Esono Akeny informed that his government is already working on it, such as adopting Portuguese language as official in the country.
