Angolan FA chief seeks support for national team’s 2012 Nations Cup campaign – posted by

Football – The chairman of the Angola Football Federation (FAF), Pedro Neto, has urged his compatriots to support the national football team in its quest to qualify for the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.

Speaking ahead of Angola’s next qualifying match at home against Uganda in the first week of September, Neto said the most important thing for the team is to have the backing of the people.

He said the federation, on its part, had been creating the necessary atmosphere for the team to win the crucial match.

‘But it is important to remember that the team belongs to the entire nation. Angola’s qualification depends on the efforts and help of everyone. Therefore we must be all united around our team,’ he

Angola is four points begin group J leader Uganda, which is on 10 points.

A victory in the next match will greatly enhance the team’s qualification chances. Kenya and Guinea Bissau are the other teams in the group.
