Guinea national team coach Frenchman Michel Dussuyer has confirmed that the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match against Nigeria had been postponed.
Speaking on Wednesday morning to French sports magazine L’Equipe from Abidjan, Cote D’Ivoire where the Sily National are preparing for their supposed match against Nigeria earlier scheduled to take place on October 10 in Conakry, Dussuyer said a fax landed in his hotel a while ago saying the Nigeria encounter has been postponed indefinitely.
“We received a fax this morning from Guinea football federation, confirming to us the Guinea – Nigeria match has been postponed till further notice. No reasons were given. We’re waiting for further clarifications,” Dussuyer said.
Nigeria was suspended for two years by world’s football body FIFA days ago for multiple government interferences in the country’s football affairs.
